Adding Cards by Certificate Number

For already graded cards, you can quickly add cards to your inventory using the Quick Add by Certificate feature. When a valid certificate number is provided, whuppit will automatically fetch as much information about the card as possible (year, card number, parallel, card number, player, sport, etc) and automatically fill in those fields accordingly. After that, you can safely adjust any fields, or fill in any additional details.

How to use the Quick Add by Certificate Feature

First, navigate to the new card page in your account and select the “Quick Add by Certificate” button.

That will bring up a few buttons and a form for you to choose the appropriate grading company. Select the grading company the certificate number is associated with, type in the certificate number, and click “Look Up”.

After you click “Look Up”, whuppit will search for all information related to that certificate number. If the certificate number is valid, whuppit will then use that information to automatically populate the appropriate fields. At the moment, here are the fields that get automatically filled in:

• Year
• Card Name
• Parallel
• Card Number
• Player
• Card Type (set to Graded)
• Sport
• Grading Company
• Cert Number
• Grade

From there, you can review the imported data and add any additional information you may want to about the print run, purchase or sales information, notes to yourself, etc before saving the card to your inventory.
