Configuring your eBay Policies and Location
To be able to create eBay listings from outside of eBay itself, eBay requires that you:
- Use business policies for shipping, payment handling, and returns
- Have a defined item location from where your cards will be shipping from (used for calculating shipping rates)
If you do not have business policies setup yet, you will need to do that in your eBay account before you can use whuppit to create listings. You can create your policies in the business policies section of your eBay dashboard.
Setting your default policies
Once youâve connected your eBay account, whuppit will fetch your existing shipping, payment and return policies. You can find the imported policies in the eBay settings section of your whuppit account.
You will need to select a default policy for each category. whuppit will save your preferences to your account and use those policies for each listing it creates.
You can change your default policies at anytime. If you create new policies inside of eBay, they will be automatically imported into whuppit for you to select.
Setting your item location
eBay requires an item locationâthe location you will be shipping fromâin order to calculate shipping rates and availability.
You can define an item location directly in whuppit in your eBay settings, under the Item Location section.
An item location consists of, at minimum:
- A street address
- A city
- State
- Postal Code
- Country (currently US only, but please reach out if you have need for different locations)
Once youâve entered your location, hit âSave Locationâ. whuppit will now use this location for all new listings generated on eBay.
Youâre ready
With your eBay account connected, your default policies set, and your item location saved, youâre now technically ready to start creating listings on your eBay account, directly from whuppit!
Thereâs a little more you can do with stored templates and background images to make your listing process more efficient, and your listings stand out more.
